DermDecode

Know what's in your skincare.

DermDecode reads the ingredient label on any skincare product and explains, in plain English, what each ingredient does — matched to the skin type, concerns and preferences you tell it about.

How it works

  • Point and scan. Photograph the ingredient panel on the back of the bottle.
  • We read the label. The photo is used once to extract the INCI ingredient names, then discarded — it is never stored.
  • You get a plain-English breakdown. Benefits, things to watch for, and how the formula lines up with your own profile.
  • Keep a history. Every scan is saved to your account so you can compare products later.
Educational information, not medical advice. DermDecode does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for a dermatologist or another qualified healthcare professional. Always patch-test new products, and speak to a professional about your skin if you have concerns.

What makes the results consistent

Ingredient explanations come from a human-reviewed knowledge base that ships inside the app, not from a language model improvising an answer. The same product scanned with the same profile always produces the same breakdown.

Free and Pro

DermDecode is free to use, with a limited number of scans and occasional adverts. DermDecode Pro removes the adverts and the scan limit. Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription with a 3-day free trial, billed through the App Store or Google Play.
